After leading 36 major projects across oil and gas operations — from refinery optimizations to supply chain transformations — a pattern became clear: the vendors pitching "AI solutions" had no idea how our business actually worked.
They would show up with impressive slide decks about machine learning algorithms and cloud infrastructure. But when asked basic questions like "How does this integrate with our existing MES system?" or "What happens when the data quality drops during monsoon season?" — blank stares.
The proposals were always the same: six-figure investments, 12-month timelines, vague promises of "20-30% efficiency gains." No one could explain why AI would help, whichprocesses to start with, or how to know if it was actually working.
The real issue wasn't the technology. It was that these consultants had never run a production line, managed a supply chain, or dealt with the messy reality of industrial data. They were selling AI as a product, not as a tool to solve specific operational problems.

- Direct experience implementing predictive maintenance, demand forecasting, and process optimization systems
- Led teams through digital transformation initiatives worth ₹100+ crores in capital investment
- Worked with cross-functional teams including operations, IT, finance, and C-suite stakeholders
After seeing too many AI projects fail due to poor readiness assessment, Pahal founded Vyaana to provide SMEs with the kind of practical, operations-grounded AI strategy that large enterprises get from top-tier consulting firms — but at a fraction of the cost.
Why "Vyaana"?
In Sanskrit, "Vyaana" refers to one of the five vital energies (pranas) in yogic philosophy. It's the energy that circulates throughout the entire system, connecting all parts and enabling coordinated function.
We chose this name because successful AI transformation isn't about implementing isolated tools. It's about creating connections — between strategy and execution, between data and decisions, between leadership vision and operational reality. Just like Vyaana circulates energy through the body, we help AI capability flow through your organization in a way that actually works.
